Hezbollah fired more than 65 rockets on Galilee in northern Israel, claiming to have targeted several Israeli military positions. Several rockets also hit the northern city of Kiryat Shmona, damaging at least one home, as per a report by Times of Israel citing local authorities One projectile was also fired from Lebanon at Shtula, and another five rockets were launched at Zar’it in the Western Galilee on September 4, as per the IDF. Meanwhile, Iran warned that the response to Israel’s assassination of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh will be “different and surprising”.
The Iran-backed Houthis simulated an attack on Israeli targets during a “graduation ceremony” for fighters in honour of Haniyeh. The IDF will warn the government that it believes any expansion of the military operation in Gaza risks the lives of the hostages, Channel 13 reported. The warning of the risk to hostages would reportedly be passed to political leaders if they ask for further manoeuvres in Gaza.
